If you are based in Singapore (like me) and want to have the Kindle app on your Android device, then you have come to the right place.
Cutting the long story short, Kindle app is not available in Google Play Store (Android Marketplace) when you access the Store from Singapore. But there's an easy way out. Follow these simple steps:
1. Download the app (.apk file) to your computer from the following page:
Download Kindle for Android
Note: I couldn't access that page directly from the phone.
2. Transfer this file to your Android device. I transferred the file via Bluetooth.
3. Install the app and enjoy reading on Kindle.
Just for your information, I installed the app on my Samsung Galaxy S3, and so far it has been working well. Let me know your experience.
Dear Harwinder Bhai, Thanks a lot for sharing this.It helped me installing Kindle on Samsung Galaxy advance.

DeleteThank you for the great tip! Was able to install Kindle app on my Galaxy Note II in Kuwait. Just needed to temporary "Allow installation of non-Market apps" in the settings after downloading and running the installation file and all worked out great!
ReplyDeleteSorry, where is the website to download the file ?
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!! Thanks so much :)
ReplyDeleteThanks. Finally got it installed on my Note II LTE.
ReplyDeleteExcellent information! Thank you very very much! :)
ReplyDeleteI've downloaded the app to my laptop, but it won't send via bluetooth to my S3 for some reason.
ReplyDeleteBluetooth is enabled on both devices and the laptop has "found" the S3 when searching for conections in the area.
Any suggestions?

ReplyDeleteHi there, I followed your advise and was able to install the Kindle app on my S2. But when i opened my book, it prompts "Invalid item. Go to Archived Items to download it again." But there is nothing on the Archive section. Please help. Thank you
ReplyDeleteThank you. I wasn't able to download via Bluetooth. Instead, I emailed it to myself and opened the file on my S3.
ReplyDeleteHi... Not able to download. Amazon/ Google Play wont let me download any more. They ask me to install directly. To install directly, you have to sign in and once you sign in, it says your Samsung P3100 is not compatible.
ReplyDeleteHuh!! utterly frustrating. Any one please help... atleast you can mail me the installer at miloon2012@gmail.com
Thank you was sad as couldn't access my books when changing from iphone to galaxy but now I can!!
ReplyDeleteIf you guys have dropbox, you can always copy the installer from desktop dropbox and open the file from your dropbox app in your phone... :)
ReplyDeleteWorked. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteonce i download the app, i cannot find any books on the store.. anyone facing this issue??
ReplyDeleteHow are you trying to search for books. You need to purchase the books from Amazon and push them to your device AFAIK. Let me know whether that works.
DeleteThanks! It works well on my Samsung Note 3 as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! :)
ReplyDeleteSame issue here.....Managed to download app but no books.…

How do I push books to my device? Also, my default account is amazon.com, but the login for the app is amazon.co.uk. Does that mean that my purchases must be from amazon.co.uk then?
ReplyDeleteHi, Thanks for the hack. But when i click on the hyperlink to download the app on my computer, all I get is a grayed out screen. Is there something wrong?
ReplyDeleteThis probably came a bit late, did you accept third party installation in SETTINGS?
DeleteI think I did accept the third party installation setting.
